How to use the sleep sound player
Turn your device volume down, choose a sound and press Play. Adjust the listening level with your phone’s volume buttons or your computer’s sound controls. Keep the device and any cables outside the cot. Read our safe listening guidance for parents before use.
Leave Continuous selected to repeat the recording, or choose a 30-minute, 1-hour or 3-hour sleep timer. The timer begins when playback starts and pauses when you pause. Switching sounds keeps the remaining time; selecting a new timer resets it.

Can I play white noise continuously?
Yes. White Noise and Continuous are selected when you open the page. Press Play to repeat the recording until you pause it or choose a timer. Each sound uses a short stereo section of the original recording, blended at its repeat point for continuous playback. Browser or device interruptions can still stop playback.
Do the sounds work on iPhone and Android?
The player uses your phone’s browser. Tap Play to start and use your phone’s physical volume buttons to adjust the sound. You do not need to install an app. An internet connection is required to load the recordings. The selected sound loads in advance where possible. Each sound is approximately 1 MB; a slow connection can cause a brief initial wait.
Will the audio continue with my screen locked?
Background playback depends on your browser and device. Calls, power-saving settings or switching apps may interrupt the sound. Test playback with your own screen locked before relying on it for a longer session.
How does the sleep timer stop the sound?
The selected timer counts down during playback and pauses when you pause. When it reaches zero, the player stops the sound. Refreshing the page resets the timer. A suspended browser can delay it, so it should not be used as a safety-critical timer.
Why can’t I hear the sound?
Press Play and check your device volume. If headphones or a Bluetooth speaker are connected, sound may be playing through them. Check your connection and try again if the audio cannot load.
Are these sleep sounds free?
